Cookie Policy

How GlobiPay uses cookies and similar tracking technologies.

Last updated: January 1, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences, login status, and browsing behaviour.

Similar technologies include web beacons, pixels, local storage, and session storage. This policy covers all such technologies collectively referred to as "cookies".

2. How We Use Cookies

GlobiPay uses cookies for the following purposes:

a) Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function properly. They enable core features such as:

  • User authentication and session management
  • Security features and fraud prevention
  • Load balancing and server routing
  • Remembering your cookie consent preferences

Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the Platform to operate.

b) Performance & Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how users interact with our Platform:

  • Page views, session duration, and navigation paths
  • Error tracking and performance monitoring
  • Feature usage analytics to improve our services
  • Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics

c) Functionality Cookies

These cookies enhance your experience by remembering your choices:

  • Language and regional preferences
  • Display settings and theme preferences
  • Previously entered form data

d) Marketing Cookies

We may use marketing cookies to:

  • Deliver relevant advertisements based on your interests
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns
  • Limit the number of times you see an advertisement

Currently, GlobiPay uses minimal marketing cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and seek your consent where required.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our Platform are set by third-party services we use:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, analytics, and cloud messaging
  • Google Analytics: Website traffic and usage analysis
  • Payment Processors: Secure payment processing and fraud detection

These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies. We encourage you to review them.

4. Cookie Duration

Cookies on our Platform fall into two categories:

  • Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. Used for authentication and security during your visit.
  • Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device for a set period (typically 30 days to 2 years). Used for preferences, analytics, and returning-user recognition.

5. Managing Cookies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete existing cookies
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Set preferences for specific websites
  • Receive notifications when new cookies are set

Browser-specific instructions:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Cookies

Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent the Platform from functioning correctly. Some features may not work as expected if cookies are disabled.

6. Mobile App

Our mobile application uses similar technologies (local storage, device identifiers) for authentication, analytics, and performance. You can manage app data through your device settings.

7. Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Currently, there is no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. GlobiPay does not currently alter its data collection practices based on DNT signals, but we respect your browser's cookie settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable regulations. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
